Hi, I’m Amy and welcome to my blog.

 

Let’s get the boring bio items out of the way! I have been a Registered Nurse since 1996. The start of my career was stuff worthy of a book. You see, I received by first job offer (without an interview, sight unseen thanks to my ever-present mother) from a small country hospital in Central Queensland. By small, I mean 14 beds! Despite the interesting start, I found that this first job provided me with a wealth of experience, much of which I still rely on today.

 

Fast forward 17 years to when my mother and I packed up our respective homes in Sunny Queensland and made the move to Tasmania to open our first business. The year was 2013 and we were full of hope and vision. Luckily, these still remain, thanks to loving what I do and the people that I work with.

 

Much of what I share here in my blog is from my experiences throughout my eclectic nursing career, from the small country hospital, to working in Accident & Emergency, Operating Theatres, Medical and Surgical Wards, for a Nursing Agency as the Nurse Manager to where I am now, owning and managing a Home Care Company.
